Your aircraft has crash-landed in a remote range of mountains! You and your companions have survived the emergency landing and now face the prospect of surviving in the wilderness until help arrives or until you can make good your escape!
This team building event takes place in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. Our bushcraft HQ is a comfortable bunkhouse nestling at the foot of the mountains. However, it won’t be long before your team is out in the wilds taking survival decisions into your own hands.
Teams initially decide on priorities and then set out to recover essential survival equipment that has been airdropped into the area by a rescue team. Of course, what one team regards as essential is a needless luxury to a different team!
Having gathered basic survival equipment teams move on to a bivouac site to make emergency shelters and light fires. A bushcraft expert is on hand to pass on guidance and skills (just like Ray Mears) however it is very much down to each team to use the knowledge and abilities within the team to ensure that the night is a comfortable as possible. During the afternoon, you will develop the bushcraft skills needed to:
Build an emergency bivouac shelter
Light a fire without access to matches or lighters
Signal to rescuers
Setting traps for game & foraging for edible native plant species; and preparing a hot nourishing bush meal
These activities help build an understanding of, and respect for, the natural world. It also fosters an incredible team spirit as you work together overcoming real challenges.
Having overnighted in our bivouac shelters, breakfast is taken before thoughts
move on to escape! Your group will have a “chance encounter” with an expert hunter. Learn how man (and woman!) would have hunted game and tap into your instincts as a hunter!
Finally, with a meal “in the bag”, escape back to the real world is a possibility. You have spotted a ravine that separates your team from safety. Together your team will build a rope bridge and swing dramatically across the gorge to reach safety. You have survived and escaped!
This is a unique and genuinely memorable team building event. You’ll come away from your Bushcraft Challenge event feeling tired but re-invigorated and with an experience that your team will “buzz” about for weeks and months to come!
Eventus provides Bushcraft Challenge from April to September. Prices include all meals and refreshments.
