How to Improve Collaboration & Communication Across Teams

Adding the final touches to the pipeline

Adding the final touches to the pipeline

Last week we had the pleasure of running one of our most popular events The Great International Marble Run Challenge for our client – m~hance at their annual company conference. Lasting a couple of hours this is the perfect event to illustrate how teams can work collaboratively across teams and boundaries.

Working equally as well outdoors as well as indoors, teams have to work in collaboration with some teams whilst working competitively with others, neatly illustrating the the collaborative and competitive nature of the workplace.

“Each year we hold a Company Conference which all staff are asked to attend. The objective of the day is to celebrate the previous year’s performance and communicate the business strategy for the coming year. We like to keep the event light and fun for our employees. As a business we have quite a disperse workforce with staff based from 3 different offices across the UK and Ireland and many based from home.  As such, we like to include a teambuilding exercise to improve cross departmental working and communications. Some of our employees may liaise with colleagues who they have never met, and so the Eventus activities provide a fun way to get a serious message across. It is great to see relationships form during the exercises as we know they will continue to develop when we are back in the office environment.

This is the second time we have used Eventus, after the success of our 2016 conference there was no question to use again. The Eventus team are excellent, they are organised, energised and friendly  and I was pleased to have Eventus there to manage the afternoon for me.” Louise J, m~hance

The construction nature of this activity, the sharing and co-operation over resources highlight a central truth about teamwork – that success is achieved when all teams and team members are aligned to the same goals.
